It feels good - great, maybe - to have my swim out of the way. When I got to the pool at about 7:40 this morning it was full. I had to wait a bit to get a lane, but I didn't mind, and it didn't take long. Yet I don't much like the idea of facing full lanes. Sundays aren't good, generally. When I left the pool about 45 minutes later there was only one swimmer left, though. So maybe arriving a little later would be better. I talked to that swimmer briefly,  and she said she used to have good luck at about 11 in the morning on weekdays, but now she swims earlier because she can.

I suspect this is the best deal I can get, this pool. Although it only has four regular lanes (and one walking lane), and although those lanes are certainly in demand, I suspect they are less in demand than the ones in Sinsheimer pool, which is much larger. I mean I suspect I can more easily get a lane to myself. And the pool at Cuesta, again quite a bit larger, is not even open on weekends and its public hours for lap swimming are really limited. The pool at the new big gym in SLO only has two lanes, which have to be reserved ahead. There is a little hope in that a new pool is being constructed in Arroyo Grande. I wonder if I will have access to it. I think it's part of Cuesta.

After my swim this morning i went to the Coffee Bean. Had a bagel and iced coffee and sat and read. I had dropped a book outside on a table, with its bookcrossing label and in a plastic bag, before I came in,  and I watched surreptitiously when a woman came to that table, found the book, fingered it, picked it up, set it down, and eventually took it with her. I wonder if she will read it. I wonder if she will enter her find in bookcrossing.

I love a good bagel and a glass of iced coffee! I make iced coffee often for myself at home.

I don't think anyone does the bookcrossing around here....maybe I should get it started?

Yes! There are a number of registered bookcrossers in this area - maybe 25? more? But very few are releasing books these days. Just once in a while. The great thing is that you don't need anyone else. Just do it!

I left three more books at Costco this aft. I dropped them on a table outside as I went inside the store, and when I came out again they were gone. I like that. I hope whoever took them actually reads one or two of them. You just never know.
