It's a gray very cold day (someone I met said "they're talking snow", meaning in the upper reaches of the hillsides that surround the city) and the rain is pouring down now, making a steady rumble of sound on my roof, a sound I find immensely pleasurable. I turned up the heat and I sit comfortably here, listening and looking out the window. I touched my hand to the glass of a window and felt the cold. The rain is increasing in volume and intensity and I am now thinking of Stretch, who insisted on going out when it was barely sprinkling. He must be under the house.
