As usual, I didn't stay up for the festivities...I did wake shortly after midnight to hear some neighborhood folks blowing horns and cheering.

I didn't think of it at the time. It's nice that people can still get excited about a new year. I do take note of some birthdays - this year being one - that are milestones. I made a resolve when I reached fifty that I would start doing the things that I had been putting off all my life, and in fact I did many of them. Among the most memorable was that I triumphed over my fear of heights. I did a few other things not suitable for broadcast here, but which were in many ways as important.

This decade should start in a similar way. Some thoughts have been welling up and I think that they will force their way to the front, and I will make note of them here.
