Such grand plans...

I am not yet to 13,000 words, much less 16,000.

I went to the Wal-Mart movie and bought both the book and the DVD. Yay! There were so many people there! I thought there might be just a few of us at the twelve-o-clock showing but the room was full, and when we left there was a sizable line waiting for the two o'clock.  There isn't anything new about the word that Wal-Mart is evil, but still it is heartening to see so much interest in this film. It almost gave me hope. I've had little of that lately, about the state of the world.

Where to go with the novel...I just keep trotting out things that stem from my childhood memories. I change a few things but the essence is there, true. I am thinking that this time the writing is, if nothing else, cathartic. And so that's what I'll keep doing, whether it's anything that can become a real book or not.
