There was a party across the street last night. A family thing. Kids in the pool, screaming, music playing, people talking. It went on until late.

I don't like parties. I go to them more because I feel obligated or expected than because I expect to enjoy it. Sometimes I will find someone to talk to and have a reasonably pleasant conversation but it isn't really worth the trip.

I think it's time I stopped doing things I don't like doing, except for those things I absolutely have to do.
