Back from Desert Hot Springs. Another remarkable visit with Steve, who attracts people so diverse and who has experiences so bizarre - of course the way he describes the experiences is hilarious. We also had a good time just hanging around and spending some time with my daughters and grandson. They had to leave Saturday late afternoon, so that time was short.

Among Steve's recent visitors to the Beat Hotel: Kate Millett, 90 years old. And the author of the latest book on the Black Dahlia murders, the son of the killer, according to his book. And so many others. Steve tells us these stories rapidfire and I can't retain it all but wish I could. I would love to record him on videotape, every time we meet. But I know having a camcorder running tends to make people nervous.

Speaking of that. My new camcorder arrived and I have been going through the instructions. THere is much it can do so it is a little daunting. But wow. That's what I want.
