Mary and Kat and I met with the hospital people today. Two doctors, the physical therapist, the social workers. We heard the story of the infections. In a nutshell, Mike has had one bacterial infection after another. Each one has been treated with antibiotics and each time some of the bacteria have developed a resistance. At this point there are no antibiotics available that will fight the resistant bacteria that are destroying Mike. With his organ failures and weak resistance, they have come in and weakened him to the point of no return. There is nowhere to go in terms of treatment.

Our understanding is that Mike could die in the next couple of days or he could die in a month. It is unlikely he will survive longer than a month.
