So I did pass 20,000 words yesterday, but didn't make my 2,000 word total for the day. I went to a concert in the afternoon, with friend dorothy, and we ended up going out to dinner later. I wrote a little afterward, but not enough. I feel I am still in the running, of course.

I have been dipping into various books on writing, alternating among them for ideas, thoughts, triggers. The one that got me started on this silly quest - "No Plot? No Problem!" - had some really silly ideas for expanding the word count when things are not going well. Among such ideas as changing a character's name to two words - Anne to Anne Marie, for example, was the "dream sequence". Have the character dream. Doesn't matter about what.

I did that. I didn't use more than a paragraph, but it was actually an interesting diversion.
