Three and a half hours at the "Quick Care" clinic this morning, with the result that I expected. They don't really know what it is but it may be diverticulitis. On that basis, the doc prescribed two antibiotics, one of which causes a severe reaction if taken with alcohol. They ruled out a UTI and drastic things, so I got what I wanted, which was a reasonable assurance that what is troubling me is not life-threatening. They also gave me a "colon cocktail", a mix of some stomach stuff with lidocaine and I don't remember what else. It had a strange effect on my mouth and initially made me feel a little spacey. Ultimately it didn't seem to have much effect. The intent of the thing is to relax my insides so I won't be cramping so much. Nice try.

Before we went to the clinic I was unable to find my car keys. I retraced steps but did not find them. We took Elaine's car anyway, so could finish the hunt later. Which I did. I went all the way back to the car and found a note tucked in the driver-side window. Another resident had found the keys in the lock and obviously devined that they belonged to the owner of that car. Could even have hit the unlock button to check. Luck, anyway! I got the keys back! I think I should find a nice little gift for that couple. Leave it at their door tomorrow, perhaps.

I just finished putting a lasagna in the oven. We'll be bringing it to a party put on by a friend of Mary's tonight. A family-type party. I am really not in the mood for a party, especially with my stomach feeling this way, but I'll get through it, without alcohol, and might even have a good time.
