Last night James and Dorothy and I went to dinner together at the Jaffa Cafe in SLO. We had never been there before, didn't know what it would be like. It is a deli-style cafe where you order at the kitchen window and then sit down at one of the tables or take the food with you. I had a grilled vegetable pita that had feta cheese and some other good things in it, on very good pita bread. I will definitely return. Good prices, too. They have a little selection of groceries, including little boxes of saffron, more than I could get in a grocery, for a lot less money. I bought one of those, thinking of rice.

We made a pretty good trio. Dorothy asked lots of questions of James and James launched into various passions of his. He has a way of framing things as rules for living, in a way. He doesn't quite become "natural", at least not what I define as natural. I'll be curious to hear what Dorothy thinks about him. When I wonder about people I like to know what others see as well.

Good rehearsal. I need to work on this music! With the German.
