The picnic was held at the Nipomo Regional Park. I didn't even know there was one, so this was quite a revelation. There are even trails in that very large park, so I took off on one of them when I saw that nothing seemed to be happening that needed me. I came back and the food had still not begun to be served, but people were still talking. I think the food started being served at about 12:30, which, considering the size of the crowd, seemed just a wee bit late. I finally got something to eat at maybe 1:30, waiting in line interminably first. Good desserts after! Easy to get! Later I realized I could have just gone for the desserts and the heck with the rest, avoided the line.
It's good to get some chance to see candidates speak, even the local level ones. They have a way to rising up the ladder sometimes and it's interesting to watch. I have noticed how skilled Peg has become in the campaigning department. She spends just the time needed and no more. No hanging around for her. And I admire that! It's important to learn that, and it's something I was noticing about the people on The American Candidate. One in particular was forever getting caught up in doing things that might be nice but that just were not productive. I knew she was toast and now she is.
Speaking of that, I didn't find AC last night. Did it just miss a week? I hope so. I don't want to miss any episodes!
