Tonight, though. I foolishly responded to a call on my cell phone, from a number I didn't recognize. It was the campaign headquarters for a woman who is running for state senate, a woman I know from my long years with the city of SLO. She made her way through the Kerry event last Thursday, getting people to sign up. I couldn't say no, and I didn't think until later that I could have put down a wrong phone number. So there I was, talking to her daughter. And I signed up for the phone bank tonight, from 5:30 to 8:30. I thought about asking about cutting it back to one hour or two but realized that would just be too weird. So tonight that's what I do, and I fully expect it to be a type of headache.
Working on behalf of someone I don't much like, calling people in the evenings, being one of the persons I hang up on.
