The thrill of cabling

I got the VCRs exchanged and the new one working the FIRST TIME. No need to go back and reverse cables or plug something somewhere else. It helps that the VCR sets a lot of things up by itself, knowing most of us simply won't. I bought this puppy so I could play and record things I tape with my video camera, mainly, because it has audio video plugs in front as well as in back. Kinda normal these days, but my old one doesn't have that.

I went on the web to see if I could find anything out about this older VCR. I found a place that sells the service manual for it, for over $25. The VCR is not worth that much itself, of course. But it is a lovely piece of work, very durable. I got it when my father died in 1994 and it wasn't new then. It still works. It's just not new-fangled.
