Outside my window, some distance from it, is a small bird. It flits from stake to stake on a site that is undergoing construction. It's a cute little thing, and I find myself wanting a pair of binoculars to see it better.

This morning I went to get my teeth cleaned at my usual periodontal dentist's office. The office that may be characterized as "decorated" all year long. Today the decorations in the room where I sat consisted of a few Christmas bulbs hanging from the ceiling, a few strands of silver tinsel, hung from a coat rack, and a set of five chubby porcelain cardinals lined up on a branch, hanging from one of the hooks on the coat rack. I think we are celebrating bird days.
