Other things. I feel like cooking. I think making those three cakes reminded me how much fun it is to bake things, and how not hard it so often is as well.
Prokofiev. The Mozart Festival's opening concert this year is a performance of Prokofiev's third piano concerto. I love love love this concerto, even tried to learn it once. It was SO difficult! I did not have the strength nor the reading ability to get it going, and the teacher I had at the time was more a coach than a teacher and he had no patience for this. Somehow, though, that concerto has always felt like "mine". It is rich with emotion, intensity, excitement, yet in a rather classic way. I am not the first to think of Prokofiev as the true follower of Beethoven, a Beethoven of another age.
It's good to have the computer back, for now...and I am, again, glad my laptop works, just in case.
