I subscribe to two mailing lists aimed at persons who are victims of our mental health system. I don't consider myself so much that kind of victim, although I could make the case.

What's interesting is that these are among the most intelligent, readable, thoughtful posts I have ever read in any mailing list. It makes me think rather seriously of Laing's contention that mentally ill really means not accepted, having a different vision of life, perhaps a greater, more challenging one, that a mentally ill person is more a person to be listened to than shut away.
