I went to a retirement party today, for seven city of SLO employees, all of which I know to lesser or greater degree. A ton of people showed. And I knew almost all of them. It was old home week like I've never had old home week. Hugs and chats and exclamations and everything, and promises to get together and do this or that. A few were special connections, and I look forward to hearing from them again (I already have, from one, email) and doing something now and then. It felt really good.

And, odd though I think it sounds, I was really glad I had my hair done earlier in the week. I just think it kicked me up a notch, made me that much more confident. It seems very silly to be thinking this at all, and I know everyone would have been glad to see me with or without good hair, of course.
