It's a woman thing?

I'm watching West Wing and it's mostly issues that upset various women. Selling of weapons to a dictatorship that is oppressive to women; supporting a UN policy that opposes "forced" prostitution rather than "prostitution" period; getting the Smithsonian to back off on the message of a WWII exhibit, one that tells of America's aggression and vengeful attitude toward the Japanese...in any case, CJ loses it - or maybe doesn't lose it - expresses herself forcefully and angrily and ends up feeling like crying as she loses one battle after another (although she wins one), and I feel a kinship to her. I feel people tiptoe around her sometimes because people know she can explode. I guess people know I can explode, too.

Is it a female thing? Or is it something else? Do women show this side more often than non-women because we've grown up able to emote like this? Yet the flip side - when we explode we are seen as out of control, not all there, not to be listened to...I don't know what to do with this.
