such wealth

I made the mistake of going downtown to find a Washington Mutual bank, so I could get some quick cash without paying extra, from my PayPal debit card. There is a car show going on down there and Higuera Street and side streets are blocked. So I ended up driving all over the place, finally parking in a bank parking lot on Marsh, trying that cash machine, then another at another bank, and finally a third, before I could find one with the right kind of system and get some cash...not Washington Mutual, so I had to pay. Might as well have just gotten cash from the machine near the farmers' market.

Still. I left early enough so that when I arrived at the farmers' market it was still in full swing. And what a wealth of late-summer fruits and veggies! I bought apples from See Canyon (four or five varieties, a few of each), peaches, both pink and white, cucumbers, leeks, zucchini, crook neck squash, basil (lemon), Chinese long beans (it's been so long since I've cooked these wonderful beans), and more I can't remember now. I spent $18 on these things, including two bread sticks from Pure & Simple bread, which I brought with me to Starbucks to eat with a cup of decaf. Very satisfying indeed. I went then to the nearby Ralph's, which is like a playland to me, so full of appliances, furniture, other goodies, along with the food. Yes, I am a sucker for these things, but not as much as I have been in the past. I ask myself, "Do I really need that?" and often forstall a stupid purchase based purely on sensory effects, like pretty color, nice texture... At least I am aware of my weaknesses.

Now I am home and ready to approach that storage building. I figure I'll set up a table and unload stuff onto that so I don't have to dump it on the ground. That should make it easier.

My right knee is not all that happy with me and my persistence. It would rather I sat down a while. It would rather I had a bath stool in the bathtub so I don't have to stand to shower. It would like me to let it rest more. I know, I know, knee, but I just can't, it is making me crazy.
