Soon off again

Tonight I threw away all but one of the reservations I had printed out for this trip. There is just one leg left - the plane ride home from Las Vegas. It doesn't leave until ten minutes until twelve, unfortunately. Or fortunately. We have had a pretty full day here, Mary, Marty, Joey, and I. Went to the Natural History Museum, shopped for food, ran a few errands, ate lunch out, did a puzzle, started a paper mache project, made gingerbread, and of course played Sims. Joey created a family and I made a house for them and I have been trying like mad to make them happy but there are five of them and it's hard to manage this house.

Right now Joey is creating another family. I will find a place for them after I get home.

The Mike

Mike is awake now. But he still is having a hard time communicating. He can't speak and can't control his hands the way he wants to. He seems desperate to talk, from his expressions. I know this from emails from my sister Mary as well as from his many good friends, who have been visiting him a LOT. He isn't yet capable of signing a power of attorney and I don't think he would sign it if he could, right now, without a lot of discussion.

At McCarran airport in Las Vegas. Wireless everywhere.

I've decided that if I should become a frequent traveler I will go first class.

Last night we were treated to a flight attendant the like of which I have never seen before. I wrote a little piece on him for this journal but lost it before I could post it. He was rude, stiff, unfriendly, and arrogant. So very strange, really, that I wondered how he had come to have that job. I found myself almost fearing each interaction with him.

The seats on JetBlue don't leave much room. I needed the aisle seat but then realized that it should have been on the other side of the aisle, so I could stretch out my left leg now and then. All of the flights I have taken lately have really been cramped and I have come to feel tired and squashed. I wish I were smaller and fitter! That would help.

I think we'll board soon. Enough of my bitching. I am just too tired.
