I didn't smile because a smile can distort the appearance of the swelling.

I had the bottle of Vicodan and a bottle of water next to my bed last night but had no need of it. My jaw is mildly sore, more so when I open it, doesn't require pain killers.

Lordy. So tired. I'm tempted to leave early.

I'm cold and my stomach doesn't feel right and I'm drained. I figure I'll leave at about noon and take a nap. Did I do this the last time? I'm going to look.

I went back to my entries of Oct 8 and the next few days. Very similar to this time. I left work very early the day after surgery, though, almost as soon as I came in. The swelling increased, then started going down by the third or fourth day, but the bruising became more and more prominent. I'm glad now that I recorded the progression. I must have known there would be reason to look back, to check.

I just got up from a nap. The novelty is wearing off. It hurts when I laugh.
