I got a call after six last night that my Bullet was ready to pick up. I zipped to the vet's and happily grabbed his carrier and antibiotic and brought him home.
His fur looked better than it may ever have, frankly, other than the small spot on top where it wore off after repeated spillings of that strange food that goes into his tube (I have learned how to avoid it spilling on his fur in the future, for the most part). He also seems more alert and demanding. While he was gone I used my spotbot to clean portions of the carpet where he was hanging out - he drools various liquids, leaving brown spots that aren't that hard to get out. He refuses to go back to those places once they are cleaned, though. So he's exploring for his next hangout and presently is sleeping right in front of the front door. I may want to put a sign on there to "come around back" for those who visit.
I look forward to trying the new antiinflammatory drug, which I will pick up this afternoon from a vet specialist store. Any hope of reducing discomfort seems like a win to me. Maybe he will even be able to lick water now and then, which I think would be really great.
