I sauteed fresh veggies in a bit of olive oil - zucchini, red pepper, onions, mushrooms - and put them on a bagel half. Sprinkled with salt, pepper, and oregano. I guess if I were truly unduly influenced by cooking shows, I would have sprinkled the oregano around the plate or squirted some kind of sauce in a zig zag pattern. So maybe there is still hope for me.
It was awkward to eat but delicious, by the way. Be better with smaller pieces of veg and eaten with a fork and knife, probably.
It's true, though, that watching Top Chef and Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares has made me hugely aware of cooking techniques (I notice especially when chefs do not have good knife skills) and has especially made me aware of how much can go wrong in a commercial kitchen. Never mind my own kitchen. The food cooked on these shows never tempts me. It's just the techniques that interest me, and how something that looks good can be so bad.
