So far...

Both elaine and mary are sick. Joey is with his dad but he was showing signs of sick too. I am not sick. Yet. If this keeps up it's going to be a strange Christmas. Could be okay, though, if the sickies don't feel too awful.

We have been casually giving presents ahead of time. We don't have a specific program - six days or twelve or one a day or whatever, but we've agreed that we can open some ahead of time. This way we appreciate each one more. There also aren't a ton of presents under the tree. We didnt' go crazy.

I have come to enjoy our stocking tradition. We now each buy little gifts to go into stockings and slip them in there, so nobody knows everything that goes into them. Or who they come from.

I have also been enjoying the relaxed, untaxing time here. It's easy to get into a car and go get something or other.  It's also easy to stay inside, just reading and vegging or watching the insanity of the two little animals. Floyd - dog - and Temp - cat - became instant friends and love to chase each other around, mock-wrestle, and generally just play together. Temp even licks Floyd, cleans him up. I have never seen anything like this before. They are going to miss each other.
