I am getting more comfortable with my new camera. Fortunately or unfortunately, many conventions of 35 mm camera design have been retained, so I recognize them. It is going to be a while before I know it so well that I immediately know how to set it the way I want it, of course. If I had any room in the house I would set up a little studio to practice. I can do that on the dining table, after clearing it off, to some extent. And then go outdoors for a lot of other practice.

How exciting! I can't wait to see some pictures.

You've got me thinking about taking a Nikon class that's being offered in Orlando. =)

Have fun!

There is so much to learn! I am both excited and dismayed by it! What I would like is to practice on only one thing at a time, as much as possible. I would love it if there were a workbook with "assignments" that allow one to focus on specific types of photography, but I can probably work out some ideas myself.

One thing's sure: this camera is not for the faint-hearted.
