I'm starting to feel better about the insurance company.

When I took my car to lunch today I noticed some damage to the rear bumper. I felt distressed about it. I looked at other cars that didn't have damage to the bumpers and kept thinking this is just wrong. I don't know what caused the damage.

I also had to pay the full $500 deductible to the body shop, even though I had paid about $85 to the Bakersfield mechanics that should have been part of that.

So I was feeling a little put out. When I got home, I called the claims adjustor, Tony. He picked up right away. First I told him about the damage. He said he hadn't even looked at the bumper, had just looked under the car, and maybe the rock could have done that damage, too. Or possibly the tow. I agreed, could have been either. He needs to look at it, so he will stop by city hall tomorrow morning to look, and he said he might be able to get Villa Automotive, the body shop, to do that work for free, because they may have caused the damage with their tow truck. So we'll see. I hope that happens.

Then I mentioned the other bill that I had paid. He said he has already sent me a check to reimburse me for that amount. So that's done! What a relief. I am going to stop bitching about this company if all this comes out well.
