Miller Library

Yesterday, on our trek up highway 1, Karen and I stopped at the Henry Miller library. It is located about four miles from where Miller lived at the end of his life. I had seen it on previous trips but it wasn't open or I wasn't able to stop. So this was a real treat for both of us.

At the entrance to the library is a cross made of computer monitors...

Inside are many books, painting, other interesting items, including a Swedish guy at the counter who was the subject of discussion in the car later. For a while there I thought we might have to turn around and go get him.

I bought a cool T-shirt and a copy of a "welcome" message Miller had handwritten. I'll stop there again.

Oh the cross is new, well new in the past ten years which is how long since I've been to Big Sur.

Hmmm, that is much, much too long.

But then, you aren't right on highway one. Or close to it.

Excellent choice. If you are in the neighborhood, perhaps we could go get coffee or something.

Absolutely. We have to go back to San Luis Obispo sometime and find this artist fellah and buy more of his stuff.
