dead camera

Joey dropped Mary's digital camera in the pool while we were at the Elrod house. Marty set it out to dry and I tried it the next day and then the next and it did not work. I am going to try it again when I dig it out of my luggage, because I took it home with me. I figured I'd have a better chance of getting it repaired than Mary would. When I find it, if it still is not working I will bring it to a camera shop downtown. There is one that has a local repairperson available, might be worth a try.

It's funny. I have given digital cameras to both daughters and have spearheaded and contributed to the purchase of a third camera, which was sent to my niece. Yet I still don't have one of my own! I need to change that.

whoops! Once a camera gets wet it sometimes takes days, weeks to dry out but they often work again. I know from experience. Try gently blow drying the cracks and open parts on low, cool setting.

You definately need to buy yourself a digital camera!

My sister told me this, too, that she'd read about a camera that had gone into the water and about a week later it worked again. I am feeling hopeful. When I called a camera shop in Palm Springs, the guy was really negative, said because it was electronic it was probably toast. Geez.

It has been several days now, so I will be trying it again today. I'm glad to hear others have had success with this! Thanks!

Digital cameras are so much fun, and so instantly gratifying! And they're getting better all the time. Cheaper, too. There's even a disposable digital camera that comes with a disk for processing.

Good luck with camera drying. Hope it recovers!
