A challenge

The current editor of the Cambria paper has asked, on short notice, if I would be interested in reviewing a play opening at the PPP this weekend. It is a romantic comedy, not my cup of tea at all, really, so it will be a challenge for me. I think I can do it, I think I can write a good review. I think it's a musical, for that matter...well, I think I can do that, too...

So what happened?

Grief, what has happened? I notice that you haven't posted for over a week and that the last two entries are private (or at least screened from me). I'm most concerned about you. I would have written sooner, but my own major worries have made me less attentive to my friends' journals than I have been. Anyway, I'd like you to know that I'm thinking of you and hoping that it's nothing too serious.

No need for alarm
no, nothing happened. I just stopped writing in here for a while for a stupid reason.

I do appreciate your concern. It's nice of you to look in!

Re: No need for alarm
I'm very much relieved that nothing happened, and thank you very much for letting me know. A couple of my other on-line friends are feeling the need to have a break from LJ, too. I hope that you will feel like resuming your writing here soon, and I look forward to it.

Re: No need for alarm
Here we are again, reinstated ...you mustn't think the worst when people don't write. Speaking personally, It's nice to be missed but can be a little bit daunting to feel an object of alarm if you don't make regular appearnces.

Re: No need for alarm
I think it's a matter of consistency. I do write rather consistently so people who look in here expect to see something. Whereas they might not expect to read something by you or from Dar or maybe most journal writers every day.

I certainly have had gaps in here before, though. My hand-written journals also.

I also think people become concerned because our relationships here are almost always purely online. People get distorted views of each other. I don't know how that can be avoided.

Re: No need for alarm
Ni I suppose you have a point - though to compare it with 'real time' usually helps me...Oh s0-and so- hasn' been on for a while, must have something else going on etc etc ... anyway how was your sabbatical? (smile) BTW all my journals are in a mess so not much worth reading at present. Publisher wants some stuff taken out other stuff put in - the in depth Alice story ( a study in desire/obsession very much close to home 95% being true I yanked out from ITW for reasons given and kim_hatton mostly re-treads....all wonderfully hectic. And they say Christmas is near! (tangent over)
Your turn. X

Re: No need for alarm
I see Judith has beaten me with the answer. She has explained exactly why I was concerned. I've not known her to take so long a break from posting before and it worried me. Fortunately, there looks to have been nothing to worry about. I do appreciate that it can be daunting, as you say, to be the object of alarm, and I shall endeavour to stay calmer in future.
