So now I'm watching an early Hitchcock movie: The Lady Vanishes. And thinking about a plumbing problem that suddenly surfaced. My kitchen faucet shoots water across the room when I try to turn it on. I need to deal with that quicklike. Only I am not familiar with this particular type of faucet. I'll turn off the water tomorrow morning and take a look.

I love The Lady Vanishes in the original version. As for the plumbing - it comes under my heading of 'There's always something (going wrong)...'

I didn't know there was another version. I enjoyed it thoroughly. My brother kept shaking his head at the improbabilities. They didn't bother me, given the time the film was made, the perceptions people had at that time.

the plumbing is still a problem. I am going to find some other tools and try another way in, that Mike suggested.

The other version (1979 with Eliot Gould and Cybil Shepherd) is hardly worth knowing about!
