Jim Green trail

I took the Jim Green trail in Atascadero today. It's a nice hike, small, has a little rise that got my heart pumping a little, nothing too big. It is a beautiful walk, strewn with oaks, many of which are supporting dripping parasites. I know the parasites are up to no good but I love the way they look.

Is that Spanish Moss on the trees? I can't tell from the photo. It sort of looks like it but I thought that only grew down South.

I'm fairly certain it isn't but I do not know what it is called. One of the most common parasites on these trees is mistletoe, but this isn't that either. I really would like to know more about it. I have done some online hunting but it hasn't told me anything.

The trees do not seem ready to keel over. I don't think this growth is good for them but again, I do not know. Sometimes pests and parasites do some good for the tree.
