Dapple does a book

Dapple, one of the brighter cats around, loves to dig everything. In this pic he's digging a book. Using this technique, he has succeeded in knocking books, glasses, cell phone, tape dispenser, and more from the kitchen counter onto the floor. He lies on my computer, turns on any program he can get to (the latest was a budget program), lies on the mouse when I am trying to use it, and generally makes a nuisance of himself. But he's quite the affectionate one at night. That is, if you enjoy having your hair turned into a fright wig while you sleep. Fortunately, I don't much care how my hair looks.

Awww. Kitty belly!

My youngest cat son (Cecil) is a paw-er. He loves to paw in blankets to make a nest (even in the heat of summer).

Nothing like a kitty belly.

Isn't it great that their personalities are so different?

That is just too cute! You keep on describing what he does and posting these photos, and nobody is going to be able to blame him for anything he does!

But when they weigh less than 25 lbs, it's tolerable--especially when they're affectionate.

Dannykat is pretty bossy, too. (But your guy has him beat, I admit!)

I'm sure he's under 25 but I'm not sure he's under 20 pounds. It's amazing how some cats can pack it on when their food is controlled and they live indoors. These cats all get the same amount every day yet two are porkos and two are not. Metabolism. I swear.

Well, I pretty much have given up trying to keep Dannykat under 20 lbs. It is possible that he's around 20 lbs.

I give him a quarter can of wet food per day, and about 5 oz. of dry food that is indoor formula for adult cats aged 7+ yrs (Dannykat is now 9!)

Several years ago it occurred to me that he should be given chores, but that idea never caught on.

Man it sucks when everyone laughs at you when you're trying to do something good! *g*

Chores. Yeah. Cats LOVE those.

That's about how much these critters eat. I am a bad mommy myself - I feed my own cats (these pix are of my daughter and son-in-law's cats) whatever they want to eat. But they are active enough that it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Well, I really don't understand how this cat of mine expects to succeed in the business world if he doesn't develop some kind of discipline at home....*sigh* oh, nevermind.

While I think that what I feel Dannykat is right for him (it had better be--that dry food is not cheap), he gets to mooch off of me sometimes. For instance, anytime I have pork chops, I have to share a little with my buddy.
And when I have cottage cheese, he gets to lick the bowl clean before I wash it.

Spoiled, I tells ya! (But I wouldn't have it any other way--he actually does appreciate it, sensitive soul that he is).
